sappygirl agony auntsounds like your husband doesn't want you to be independent so he can have control over you. It's your life, why do you need to ask him if you can work?

Just do it. Learn to drive, or take the bus. Or you can sign up for classes at your local community college.

You will be happier when you get out there and do things on your own. He's your husband not your father.
