I really need some help please.

ive been taking the pill for about 6 months maybe. on and off. first two months to get used to it and going on holiday etc. but i often forget sometimes. i have an alarm and things that goes off but my routine is always irratic so i dnt always have time when it goes off to tell me to take it.

for one month. i took the pill, then i forgot for 3 days say. and then i got a period. after having a period a week before. i took the pills again for another 4 days or something say and then forgot again and i had another period. when i say a period i mean bleeding for about a week. it was like having a 3 periods in a month.

i dont understand why this has happend. i didnt think you could have more than one. i had the lining of the womb coming out in one of them too. but surly it has to grow back after the original one.

i went off it for a few weeks again. and tried with a new packet. was on it for about a week and iv forgetten again, for one day, i missed one pill. i had my period last week. and i had a sort of brown stain that could have been blood dried last night. and i was having cramps today. It could mean ANOTHER period on its way?

ive not continued. its scaring me so im going to stop taking them. my health has been really bad for the while ive been taking them.

low self esteem

very very low attention span

cant concentrate during sex

lack of sex drive

not wet enough

mood swings

getting irritated very easily

worrying and stressing over everything (to be honest im always that way)

i obviously dont have the time or thought to continue taking them. i use a condom all the time no matter what either way. I only went on it for that extra protection.

When i started going on the pill the doctor said i should be tested for any problems up there. iv read about how they do it and it terrifies me to no end. i dont want them looking up there and its painful. with how sex is going at the moment and its hard for HIM to do anything, i dont want to think what it would be like for some stranger. im terrified with doctors. i act like a 3 year old in hysterics getting blood taken. i beg him not to do anything, although i no it is good for me.

ultimately, I just want to know if anyone else has had this experience taking the pill and if i'm in any trouble at all?

thank you

The whole reason that this is happening is not because of the pill itself, but because you are taking it wrong.

Your body has been on a rollercoaster ride, some times you load it with enough hormones to stop you ovulating and the next day you don't.

Why not get the implant? You can't forget it then as it is in your arms.

You will have to be given an injection when they put it in but it's 5 minutes of nastiness and then 3 years of safety.

Other than that you'll just have to come off the pill but always ALWAYS use a condom.

Also, having smear tests / STD checks only hurts as much as when you put a tampon in. If you relax, shut your eyes and just accept it's going to be uncomfortable for a few seconds then it is all over.

Good Luck!! xx

Star_07 agony auntI think your problems are because you miss so many pills. When you go days without it, it is normal to start a period. Just like how it is when you have the placebo pills if you are taking the 28 day pack.

Are you bleeding a lot or just a little bit? If it is just a little bit, I wouldnt even count this as a period. This is called "spotting" which again, could be due to missing pills.

You should see a doctor and have your annual exam. NO ONE likes to go to the doctor and have them look at your privates BUT we have to. We do it to stay healthy and make sure everything is going good. Also, you might consider a different form of birth control if you can not remember to take the pill like the depo shot. Sometimes people bleed on this and sometimes people stop having their period altogether.

I was on the depo shot for a few years and never had a period. Then I switched to the pill and had a regular period every month. I wasnt the best at taking my pills but I would NEVER miss more than 1 pill. I didnt have any problems spotting or having early periods. Of course I go to the doctor every year for my exam and make sure everything is okay.

I hope this helps!
