Not sure if this is the right sort of question to ask on here but here goes.

I have suffered really low self esteem all my life and have suffered with really believing I was fat when I wasnt. Now I am a little older I really have put on weight, I am not huge, a dress size 16 but a year ago I was a 6 so it is a big difference. The thing is it is really getting me down, i wont go out with friend anymore, i constantly wear clothes that cover everything and i just feel disgusting. I am finding it really hard to loose the weight.

I suffer severe back problem as i have had a disc and growth removed from my spine and i also have curviture of the spine so there isnt much exercises I can do that dotn cause me pain. I have tried eating healthy but I am really fussy when it comes to food.

Does anybody have any suggestions as i am getting really low and dont want to get any worse. I am willing to put the effort in but I never seem to get anything out.

Please help me I dont know what else to do!!

Ginalolabridga agony auntI would ask your doctor to make an appointment with a nutritionist for you that way you can discuss what foods you like/dislike and she can devise a healthy eating plan for you that will help you lose the weight i had a friend who did this as she never ate meat and she is looking great now two years on and she is still keeping 3 stones off!

Try it what have you to lose except weight! Good Luck.

kellyxxx agony auntThere's lots more slimming aids, such as formoline, alli, and adios. If you ask to speak to a pharmacist they will take you to a consultation roon or a private part of the shop and ask some questions about lifestyle, they may also want to weigh you and calculate your body mass index, then they can prescribe the right treatment for you to take. It may seem embarrassing or scary but its done very professionally and you don't have to answer any question that you are uncomfortable with. X

I'm sorry I didnt fully read the question earlier, however, if you pop down to a gym they can work out alternative excercises for you.

When i say fussy I mean there are very few foods that i like. No salad stuff but at the same time I dont like creasy stuff, i mainly eat processed foods which I know are bad for me. I will try the celebrity slim stuff and see how that goes. I have been looking online at that acai berry stuff but am a bit wary, I was also looking at a gastric band but I cant afford that. Thansk for all your feedback once again you have been great. xx

What do you mean by being fussy about food? Do you have food allergies? If you are serious about losing weight a healthy diet is absolutely key. Being fussy about food is not an excuse to eat badly. There are no shortcuts to weightloss, and I am really sorry to hear you cannot exercise very much as that must make things very difficult for you. I think that keeping a food diary os a really god thing to start with, as this will help you keep your diet under control more easily.

If you work out 3-5x a week, continually for 20-60 minutes, at a medium to high intensity, working the larger muscle groups according to the guidekines set by the american college of sports medicine you should see a difference by 6 weeks. (obviously this is helped by a change to a healthier diet, and hindered if your diet gets worse)

kellyxxx agony auntYou could go to the doctors and see what they reccomend? I work in a pharmacy and there are LOTS of things which you can do! There are many meal replacement prgrams and tablets which aid weight loss, pop down to a rowlands pharmacy where they sell celebrity slim! My mum has been on this diet and the results have been amazing! She looks and feels great! Xx

Your friend agony auntHave you been assessed by your doctor as going from a size 6 to 16 is a dramatic change. Has anything traumatic happened to you in this time eg loss of loved one, lost relationship etc.
