Ginalolabridga agony auntIt is good that your mom is going with you anything you forget to ask i am sure she will ask.

It is fine, your doctor should be treated as a best friend who you can talk to without any worry.

DrPsych agony aunthello, a visit to the doctor for contraception is nothing to be worried about. There are lots of different methods but I suspect you mean your mother wishes you to take the pill. They will probably check your weight/ height, blood pressure and make some general enquiries into your family health history and any other medicine that you are taking. What is unclear from your post is why you are going on birth control pills at 16. Of course it is a good idea to take contraception if you are sexually active or have certain hormonal medical conditions, but it is unclear from your post if you are giving your consent to taking the pill. If you are then be sure to ask the doctor about how to take the pill s/he prescribes correctly and to tell you about possible side-effects. If you don't want to take it, your mother cannot force you and I think it would be unnecessary if you are not in a sexual relationship or suffering badly with period-pains (which is another typical reason for prescribing at your age).
