Well his calls are becoming more frequent, from once every few days, to once a day, to several times a day! Now he does this annoying thing where he actually pretends I've dialed him up! He acts surprised answering the phone like Hello? with a confused voice before launching into some nonsense. When I give the phone to my husband he hangs up. When I ask him to remove me from the list he keeps repeating Hello, or I can't hear you. Whenever I talk he just repeats Hello. The calls are sounding odder and he seems amused now this bastard is really pissing me off. I don't have caller ID but this can't be a real salesman can it???? Should I listen to his whole message and try and see what he says? I usually hang up after a moment or fuss at him b/c he's driving me crazy. I moved to this area during the summer, I haven't given out my number don't really no anyone. Not too long ago we won 3 vacations from a guy who sounded similar to the bastard, even though he hadn't entered any contests, my husband gave no personal info. He picked up the things at the mall and they were upset I couldn't be there but they gave it to him anyways. What the hell is going on???? Am I crazy? Reply to this Question |

Do what I've done in the past, next time he calls, don't hang up on him, just leave your phone off the hook, that way he can't make another outgoing call 'til you switch your phone off or put your receiver down.
If they put their receiver down you will still be connected and they will still be clocking up the call on their bill.
But there's a couple of downsides to this though, first ~ obviously you won't be able to receive any calls whilst you're off the hook *roll eyes*, and secondly ~ after a couple or so minutes, a wailing sound generated by the exchange will come through your phone warning you that the receiver is off the hook {not sure about your exchange in the USA, but over here it does} if so just ignore it and shove a cushion over it.
Good luck.

Yes he gets off on it lassie. You got the worst obscene caller you can get-a boring one!
Probably too unsure of himself to be a little more direct and get straight on down with the pervy chat. Tell him to practice heavy breathing and join a discussion group on panty colour before calling you back. :^)

Tisha is so right. Get caller ID and whenever that number comes up then dont answer it, or you could report it to your phone company and have the number blocked, but dont listen to the voice, that is just what they want.

Time to get caller ID, at least for the time being. Get call block too just to be on the safe side.
The next time it happens, try Wizard of Waz's idea! I like that one. My other idea is to say 'just hold on a moment' put the phone down, stand close enough to the phone to be heard, and say like you're talking into the phone, 'Okay, I've got the stalkier, I'm sure it's him on the line now, officer, yes, I'm certain that it is the same caller, yes, I'll wait, are you tracing him now?' come back to the phone, say, 'sorry, could you repeat what you said?'
Or say brightly, 'thank you for calling, you're on a recorded line...'
I've also said to 'telemarketers', "hang on just a second," then I set the phone down and walk away. Run the water in the kitchen sink, go turn on the TV, just go around the house and leave the poor guy hanging there... I go back in around 5 minutes, and surprise, they've hung up!
Only other options are to contact the your real phone company and ask about stopping harassing calls or to change your number.
But I'd try the WAAAAAHHHHH! in his ear a couple of times.

Sounds like he is a telephone sex pest and is playing on your nervousness. Perhaps your phone company can trace him and block him? In the UK nuisance calls like that (not genuine tele-marketing)is an offence.
You could also try blasting a hand held "shriek" personal alarm down the reciever. Might make him reluctant to come back for seconds.
