I'm 18 and my body is changing. Could I still be going through puberty?

A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Lately I've been feeling my hips getting wider and my breasts went up a cup size. I'm not sure if this is because of puberty because I'm almost 19 in a few weeks and I heard you stop "growing" when you're 18. I have been eating a little more than I normally would but there was never that much of a weight gain. I know it's not pregnancy because 10 HTPs and a blood test from my doctor all came out negative. So is the whole end of puberty at 18 thing a myth or is it something else?

TasteofIndia agony auntOOoh, sweet, this is totally normal.

Every woman changes after she's a teenager. Why do you think that the second we turn 21, we're whining and moaning and glorifying our teenage days and bodies. We're women! Our bodies will do plenty of shifting.

From 18-21, I went from a B cup to a D. Not due to a weight gain or anything, my body just started shifting into a more adult frame. I have curvier hips - frankly, I'm loving it because I was always too skinny in high school.

Puberty is the sudden surge of hormones, the drastic changes. But then the changes still occur, just not with the ferocity that puberty had. You're totally okay, sweet, nothing to worry about!

TrancedRhythmEar agony auntChange in diet can affect ones health greatly in many ways, good and bad. My doctor said the reason why Ive grown almost two inches the last three years is because of diet. Im a full 6'4" now. If you keep eating the way you do, youll prob gain a lot more weight. Exercise can help balance things out.
