reader, anonymous, writes (2 May 2010): similar situation here . I'm 14 , & my bf is 17 . but I'll be 15 only 4 days before he is 18 . but , I don't think it makes you look bad at all . I know many people he hangs around w / & that know about ya , & they don't look at him being " lower class " . since yes , females do mature faster than males , commonly younger girls will date older guys . as long as you two can balance each other out w / the maturity levels , I believe theres no issues . I wish the bet for you & your decision . (;

 Not at all.In my opinion, who cares?! if you're maturity levels are the same and you get on, then i don't think it's a problem. Obviously or some people it will be, but their not in the relationship.Girls are usually more mature faster than guys anyway, so i think it works better with a gap, i've been with guys who are my age and each one has cheated haha! And a guy who is 17, one who's 18, and one who was 20! (didn't sleep with any of them- wasn't with them that long) but we got on amazing and i was 15, reason was i was doing exams and didn't want bf's etc.xxxxxxxxx

I don't think it'd be wrong if you dated, but like others already said, stay away from sleeping with her until she's of legal age. I don't know about the laws in your country, but in the UK you have to be 16 to legally be allowed to have sex.

 I have to just say red green i agree with most of what you are saying but yes to sleep with her he has to wait...And if thats all he is after then she needs to stay clear but there is nothing stopping him going out with her.. To be in a relationship with some one does not mean you are having sex with them. Yes if he was older 20+ then id stay dont even go there untill she is 16 but he isnt he is 17! Aslong as he DOES NOT sleep with her and he makes sure that the parents know about it and they are not sneaking around then whats the problem?

It would look like the first step to ending up in prison. It's not low class, and who cares if you look bad... you're an adult, she's a child... when your 43 and you date a 41 year old WHO cares... but 17 dating 15 is not worth it. Wait till she's had a birthday. Be freinds, but stay out of her pants!

By all means date her, take her out have fun...what you dont do is sleep with her. Even if she says she is ready... untill she 16 it IS illegal. And ensuring that you wait till she is old enough and that she wants to, will prove to everyone how much you respect her. And you wont look bad at all! People will respect you for doing that!
