I was flirting with this guy on Facebook and then he broke up with his gf. Should I feel guilty that maybe it's my fault?

A female Australia age 26-29, anonymous writes:

Recently I've been flirting with this guy I really like, and we seem to be getting on quite well.

I was on my Facebook page, and it popped up that he had 'gone from being in a relationship to single'. the girl he was dating is a really nice girl.

Although I had no idea they were dating, I feel awful that he broke up with her, as it might be because of me flirting.

However my best friend tells me its stupid to feel guilty over it....

so my question is.

Is it right for me to feel guilty?

If you did not know they were dating, then no, yo shouldn't feel guilty.

As I said in there, I didn't actually know he was dating anyone. To my knowledge he was single.

And there was no need to insult my friend.

You should feel guilty. You shouldn't be flirting with someone in a relationship. How would you feel if your boyfriend dumped you out of the blue and then found out that he had been flirting on line with some girl? And tell your best friend that she's a dirtbag for telling you not to feel guilty..
