A female United Kingdom age 18-21, anonymous writes:

I've been with my boyfriend for 5 months now, liked eachother for 6 months before that but didnt tell each other.

I've fallen in love with him and i keep finding myself wanting to say " i love you" when we're saying goodbye or just cuddling togther, but neither of us has said it or written it to each other.

I dont want to say it in case he doesnt say it back. We say it in a joking way like insulting each other, and then say "love u really" but how can i see if he truly is in love with me?

A female reader, Ask oldersister United States + , writes (30 June 2008):

Ask oldersister agony auntI would say wait until he tells you first, it's only been 5mths. You will know he's truly in love with you when he introduces you to all his friends, his family, he spends weekends with you and is willing to go out of his way for you. He will express how he feels and and won't play games with your emotions, he'll be concerned about how you feel, he'll want you to feel safe and secure in the relationship, he'll let you know he's in this for the long haul, he won't try and make you jealous...

Give it some time, you'll know soon enough!
