I want to give him a second chance but will my friend get mad at me?

My now bffl used to go out with this guy. Then i like the guy so, i asked him out. We went out for 5 months and he would always be there for me, so sweet, and he was the perfect guy!!! Well, so i thought. But as it turns out, he was going out with someone else at the same time. At that time is was a girl i hated, but now we are bffs. So, she didnt know about dating 'her' boyfriend. So we both got mad at the boy. The boy still texts me telling me that he knows that what he did was wrong and all hes asking for is a second chance. Well, honestly i want to give him a second chance. Im still head over heels for this guy. But, if we dated, what if im hurt again, and my friend gets mad at me???
