writes:Hi agony aunts. This may not sound like a serious problem/question but to me it is. I am an 18 year old female who has plenty of time on my hands but i do go to college. The hours im there are very flexible and im doing really well and i am very resposible. The thing is i stay with my Father but i have decided I want to get a Dog. We have 2 cats and i own a rat already but i would much like to get a dog. My Father wont let me get one though. I have enough income to take care of one and enough time aswell. My older sisters were all brought up with dogs but it seems like im in a "no win" situation. I cant move out as im to take over the house we are in if anything happens to my dad! Please help me Decide how to persuade him! x Reply to this Question |

Take him step by step. Remember they need care attention 24/7. You will have to spend a lot of your own money on its health and food and take it for a walk everyday. I suggest you get a dog which is easy to handle and does'nt need a long walk something like a poodle or along those lines. Nothing too big. Look up breeds of dogs and you will surely find one which suits
Good Luck :) xx

Tricky one. We have a dog here you can have! she drives me nuts heheHonestly though, they are hard work. Need lots of walking come rain or shine. My gripe at the moment is my 2 children wanted the dog, i spent years saying no, then gave in. And do they walk it? er no. Novelty has worn off and muggins here is left with the responsibility. And thats probably whats worrying your dad. Although you are older than my 2. If you do manage to convince him, watch out for puppies! they chew everything! They cost a fortune because you are constantly replacing items the dog has mauled. My garden ended up costing a fortune because i had to dog proof it from being ruined.Im not enjoying it personally BUT i love her dearly, i just wish i hadnt gone there! hahaPlease think carefully. They are around for many years and you would need insurance too. About 10 pounds a month here in the Uk. Jabs are about 80 pounds, spade 160 pounds. It goes on and on the expense.C xxxx
