 People behave rather oddly around the subject of love if you haven't noticed. I think some women are more interested in being an object of affection rather than being in love. While she might not have this kind of issue it is something to keep in mind as you try to find a good woman.
You might also want to check your self and evaluate whether you are coming on too strong and if so why. Some guys get all head over heels and they're minds get all messed up. It is endearing in one way but the flip side is you can make HUGE mistakes and sometimes she is just not worth your love.
If she doesn't reciprocate your feelings then you have to face that you were wrong about her being "the one". The love of your life must feel the same way about you by definition. Love is to be shared not thrown away.

 Well yeah, some girls are like that. when my bf told me that he loves me I also kinda got scared, though I can't explain why, I love him too but struggle a little to say it. My heart started pounding faster and I couldn't say a word. You should talk to her and find out exactly why she got scared.

"I think I've lost the love of my life" That's not true. She's out there, but it may not be the person you thought. Learn from the mistake you made and come across as stronger in the future.
