PrunellaGringepith agony auntThis is totally normal and happens to many people with slightly sensative skin.

I live on a Caribbean island and am always at the beach and this was a real nuisance for me for years until I realized that there really are several products out there which help. If you cant find anything in the womens section of your drugstore try the men's shaving products. My favourite is a product called 'Bump Patrol' and it is for men but works brilliantly.

Allow the hairs to grow out as much as possible before you shave again, and pull out any ingrowing hairs with a tweezer. Then, shave carefully, making sure you use a sharp razor,(dull razors can make the problem worse). Dry off and use the product immediately (it may sting a little when it first goes on). I usually use it again every time I shower for the next day or two just in case.

Also avoid wearing tight/rubbing panties and clothes immediately after shaving.

Red Bumps and ingrown hairs are to be expected when shaving down there. I know they are a pain! Try using Bikini Zone located in the cosmetics area, I here that works really well. As for me I hate shaving down ther because of it growing back so quick within a day or two, so a while back I started pulling the hair out with tweezers (like you do with eyebrows, and like eyebrows tweezing only hurts the first couple of times you do it, so eventually it dosent hurt at all), I know it takes a lot of time to do, but the results last almost 2 weeks (which is well worth it). After I tweeze my bikini line, I trim the rest with a bikini hair trimmer, and I put on a little bit of my husbands after shave, and it looks perfect! Far better looking and far more longer lasting than shaving! Hope this helps

bridget agony auntHey there..

First of all dont worry about the ingrown hairs and red spots, as they are normal.. According to the "Derma Doctor' on ask jeeves this is normal as it shows the helathy sides of a shaved bikini..

Its nothing to be ashamed of Gymnasts get them all the time as do Supermodels..

There is a cream you can buy though that calms things down its called Therapeutic Shave Cream and you can purchase it at any good Cosmetic stores such as:

Boots and Superdrug

Hope this helps you!

Jacqueline
