writes:Sorry if this is TMI but I started my last period on May 8th 2009, which was earlier than usual by a few days. I have a 28 day cycle and if things are as they should be I should have started my most recent period on 5th June, but so far nothing! I took a test and it was negative. I had the feeling you get when your period is about to come and what I thought was the start of it so put on a pad - but nothing came!! Confused, I took another test and that too came back negative! Today is day 3 without sign of either the period or the positive result, so I was just wondering how long it should be left before seeking a doctors opinion on the situation - I don't want to turn up to be told to wait a few days...Thanks!

Thank you, I did another test this morning and got a very faint line, which could be my imagination, so i'll do another tomorrow and then call the Dr.

 You should know the results when your period comes or until day 14th.
If you don't want to wait any longer,you can go to your doctor and the blood test is very accurate.

Sometimes stress and hormones can delay a period. Something as easy as an iron imbalance could set you off. However, this is pretty soon. I'd wait a week, take another test, and if it comes out negative again, if you still feel unsure, then go see a doctor.
I know that every day is pure torture, and I'm sorry you're going through that. If you can't wait the week, get the appointment with the Dr sooner.
I was once sure I was pregnant when my period was two weeks late. It was pure hell, I don't have to tell you! But, I wasn't, and it was just stress!
