Escalaya agony auntAye, I see where you're coming from. Me and my girlfriend had a similar problem.

I treasure my family, there's only 2 things in this world that are important to me, my loved ones, and my career (Musician)

The best way to convey your love is call him, every single chance you get, he might feel a little smothered, but it'll show that you want to talk to him. Don't talk about important things, like his parents. just.. talk to him like you did when you guys first met, joking around and having fun.

The way me and my girlfriend looked at our relationship was:

"we're basically just best friends who have sex." And we've been together for 6 years about.

The only way you can possibly get him to understand you, is by calmly, explaining in the best detail you can that he's misunderstanding you, and tell him how it really is. You can't *MAKE* yourself important to him. If you're important to him, than he'll make you feel that way.
