Question - (9 August 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 10 August 2008)
A female United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

4 years ago ( when i was 10) i fell for someone who i though of as a friend and i fancied him for most of primary 6. After the summer when i went into p.7 and him 1st year of high school i thought i would get over him. I was wrong. In my last week of p.7 i started to fall for him again and in s1 i kept falling more and more in love with him.

He started acting like he fancied me and a few of my friends said that too. Last year ( when i went into s2.) i went on a school trip with the geography department to the isle of Arran and he went aswell. For that whole trip i started struggling hiding my feelings for him and the both of us kept looking at eachother. When he found out i liked him he ignored me for months and finaly in May one of our friends sorted things out between us.

Now the problem begins.

He started going out with this girl and i thought that he really liked him. that was until

My closest friend found out from his cousin that he loves me and i love him but he is still going out with this girl to see if he can get over me but also it turns out that he has loved me for years.

He is still going out with her and he doesn't know that his cousin told my friend and my friend told me.

I don't know what to do. we go back to school on the 19th and i don't know how to face him.

I love him but i have to act like i know nothing.

help !!!!!!

A reader, anonymous, writes (10 August 2008):

This is a common situation to be in. The best thing you can do is to talk to him about it. After you both talk and decide what to do you should also talk to the girl as she has a right to know as well. The longer you leave it the harder it will be and you may miss you chance. Have the boys girlfriend with you as you talk to him or wait till you have a talk but if nothing does happen the girl still needs to know you had the talk.
