Not talking about it is not the way to go. It leaves a lot of questions unanswered and it won't go away. I know it sucks to have to talk to him about it, but be blunt and truthful. Get the courage to speak your mind and go for it.
The outcome may not be what you want but at least your not sitting there wondering. Remember if it turns out he was just curious or whatever, Know that you will find someone who cares enough to to stick around after.
