 Being the most popular guy can actually be difficult in school. He doesn't want to be in a relationship because everyone is competing for him and seeing him like an object. He doesn't like to be swarmed by a bunch of girls and become a topic of gossip. He wants to be acknowledged as more than just a pretty face. I believe befriending him is possible if he knows your intention is sincere, and that you are a little different from the other girls, such as you have other things going on in life besides concerning too much about makeup or dieting. Having goals in life, being independent is attractive to a guy.

You are 15 yrs old and you have a crush, at 15 you dont really have relationships and i'm sorry to say it take a lot more before he would propose.
live your life and enjoy it, dont get so hung up on this boy who hasn't actually asked you out on a date. if and when he does then just enjoy it and dont rush things.
