I like "pause" in my life, is this normal?

Question - (27 December 2008) 2 Answers - (Newest, 27 December 2008)
A female Puerto Rico age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Hi, I'm a single woman living with family because of economic hardship. I'm a person who enjoys others company and talking a lot. I could talk for hours over the phone too. The thing is I've always been like this: I can go out and be with family one day and the next day with friends and enjoy it but then I need like a day or two to be alone and quiet. It's always been like this. I cannot imagine being married and living with noisy kids around forever. I cannot imagine going out from monday thru sunday without a pause. I need to be quiet for a while so my mind could function. It's like my mind needs to rest too. Is this normal? Because sometimes I think I'm the only one who needs this pause and the majority of people can go on for months without a pause. Thanks for reading/answering.

Iris7124 agony auntI think this is totally normal. I am very outgoing myself, love to talk, get together with family and friends...pretty much the same as you. I am married though with children who drive me crazy so I too sometimes need a brain pause... my family and friends call it "spacing out" for me cause I can literally space out for hours. Its my way of taking a break from reality and all the chaos going on. Even my co-workers make fun of me at work cause sometimes there is so much going on, my brain goes into overload and I just need to space out and calm down. In any case, do what u gotta do to reboot yourself. If taking a "pause" makes u feel loads better, then do it. But if u do come to a point where YOU feel something is wrong, it wouldnt hurt talking to a professional. Hope this helped some.

I totally understand your situation...my mom is similar and she needs a break once in a while.. You're not the only one.. Sometimes you need to take a break for yourself and rest...go somewhere where you can be alone and just take time to yourself...believe me you'll feel much better..I hope this helps...
