A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey, I have this friend, who is a girl, who I am very close with. We have been good friends for a while, and even dated at one point. Only problem is, she is going out with one of my friends. I am really close with her and we talk a lot, but I just can't find the courage to tell her that I really love her, more than anyone or anything and I don't want us being good friends to be ruined by us possibly dating. These 2 factors are really putting me in a predicament, someone give me some advice please.

A female reader, skye United Kingdom +, writes (23 August 2007):

skye agony auntIm so sorry that you have found yourself in this difficult situation. There really is nothing you can do Im afraid. She is part of a couple and unless that changes, she is off limits. Her current boyfriend is also your friend, so if you where to let her know your feelings for her you would ruin this friendship also.

If she becomes single in the future and you still feel the same way towards her as you do now, you should ask her out. Should you tell her now, you would create a lot of heartache for her, your friend and yourself.

Try to busy yourself with your other friends and perhaps you will find someone special along the way.

Take care,

Skye
