writes:hi i am just a young teenager and i really think that my discharge smells (not nice) it's not an unusual colour or anything but i am so worried about it. i have not told anyone except one friend who would also like your advice she thinks she has really really big "flaps" or "Lips"? please anyone help us? we are very scared!

 If there is a reasonable amount of discharge it is likely to be thrush or a baterial infection which is easily cleared up my some creams/pills the doctor give you. Usually it is caused cos you are too clean down there with soaps etc check it out online and if you think you have the symptoms just check it out with a female doc if u aint comfortable with a male. 2nd of all everyones body is different so tell your friend not to worry some woman have non existant labia minora (lips inside) or libia majora (lips outside) and others have quite large ones. As long as they aint half way down her leg or causing her discomfort then tell her she doesn't have anything to worry about and when she has sex when she is older a guy aint gonna know the difference. Don't be scared; every living person is different. Not every girl likes the smell of their own discharge, and you are one of the ones who don't. And I don't think your friend should be worried either; again, everyone's different. If, however, she has some other reason to be worried then I suggest getting a doctor to give things the once over, just in case.
