A female United Kingdom age 18-21, anonymous writes:

I have a very small clitoris, it's probably around the same size as the point of a needle and doesn't grow much or stick out when I'm aroused, you can barely see it. I'm wondering if this will have any effect on my sex life? Will I not enjoy sex or oral as much? And does anyone else have a really small clitoris? I don't really see people talk about that.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (7 March 2008):

I to have a small clitoris and have been worried about it. I did not even know about masturbation until the age of 20, probably due to this problem and had not had sex until 18. Don't worry as you get older you'll get more comfortable with this. If your partner has a problem with it remember it's their problem not yours.

A male reader, DoubleM United States + , writes (5 March 2008):

DoubleM agony auntI've heard that some women have a relatively small clitoral "bud" and recall being with a couple of females that almost seemed not to have much of a hood or clitoris poking out, but the shaft and glans is likely more present that it seems. Some are receded. A woman's sexual pleasure apparatus should be thought of as a "clitoris complex" rather than an isolated small area (or part) at the top of the vulva. Her ultra-sensitive nerves extend almost throughout the woman's vulva (organ area) and beyond, including the lips (labia majora and labia minora), vaginal opening, perineal area (below the opening), the notorious G-spot (inside the vagina) and a little known apparatus known as the legs of clitoris, which are beneath the surface along both sides.

Simply stated, your clitoris (the glans) is just the "tip of the iceberg" in terms of your sexual sensitivity zone, and it is probably more substantial than you think. Additionally, if you experience pleasure from either masturbation or a man's fondling, then you are perfectly normal. You will thoroughly enjoy when the time comes.

A reader, anonymous, writes (5 March 2008):

One of my most loving, sexually mind-blowing relationships involved a lady with the smallest clitoris imaginable. It felt like barely the start of a pimple beneath the skin yet she was so easily stimulated during intercourse that she came in minutes and always felt completely satiated. My ex-wife however, has a very large clitoris and yet has never had much of a sex drive at all, taking ages to come. So, don't worry - enjoy your sex life, everything is just fine!

We are all made up of different shapes, sizes, colours and dangly bits but when it comes to sex and pleasure they all work the same, dont worry about it, you are absolutely normal. x
