I had a sex dream about his teenage sister! Why?

Question - (21 June 2012) 4 Answers - (Newest, 22 June 2012)
A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I am 27 years old male. I have a friend, Stephen, that is a 23 years old male (I played football with him in high school).

The problem is that I had a sex dream about his 16 years old sister, Lisa. In my dream we were in her room making out and we started taking each other clothes off and we started having sex.

What is disturbing is that I think of her as a little sister. I help her with her hobby (both of us are into photography) and I help her with her school (she is terrible at history while I am great at history).

Why would I have a sex dream about a girl that is underage and who I think of as a little sister?

And lets me make it clear, I will never try anything with her. She is 16 years old and my motto is "not old enough to legally buy an adult beverage in the Unite States, than you are too young for me". Also, she is like a sister to me so actually acting on it would be disgusting to me. But I just do not understand why I would have a sex dream about her of all people?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (22 June 2012):

Ive had sex dreams about everybody. People I hate, people I dont know and yes, people from my boyfriends family. I dream even about sex with girls, and I dont normally consider myself attracted to girls!

It usually creeps me out for a few days & I hope I dont say stuff in my dreams cuz my boyfriends lying next to me in bed & sometimes says in the morning "Geeze, you mustve been having a huge shagging dream last night, you were making all sorts of noises & rolling around everywhere! What was that about?"

Then I have to lie to not hurt his feelings because truely I dont desire sex with these people or the types of sex I dream about (sometimes its bizarre).

Yeah its creepy but it doesnt necessarily reflect your true desires.

Nephertite agony auntHello, no! Don't worry about it at all. People have dreams about random things all the time. But, don't take the random things literally! It's just the brain telling you.. or trying to tell you something about your life. COuld it be that you were hurt in a previous relationship? Whenever I have a weird dream, I always check out dream interpreters. They usually give me what I need. HEre, this might help http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamthemes/sex.htm

:) CHin up you are normal.. as long as you do not act on it, you are safe! :)

A female reader, Tisha-1 United States +, writes (22 June 2012):

Tisha-1 agony auntI have had dreams in which I was toothless, or losing teeth. I've also arrived for a final in a class I never attended, flown over rooftops, was invisible to people, was walking toward things that I could never reach, hung out with various celebrities, lived in houses I never was in and had weird arguments with people I loved, all in my dreams.

I don't think dreams are indicative of intent, or danger... they're just dreams.

Why sweat it? Let it go.

person12345 agony auntPeople have sex dreams about people and things they aren't attracted to all the time, including inanimate objects, family members, close friends, people they hate, people they find actively unattractive, etc... Our brains are weird, dreams have very little to do with real life and sex dreams do not usually reflect real feelings. It's a little creepy feeling now, but as they say in sports, just walk it off. Don't dwell on it and you'll get over the weird feelings about it.
