Shemale porn appeals to some men because the visual looks apparently feminine so the object of desire is the feminine body and not necessarily the penis. Male-male sex is different because the appeal is the masculinity and the penis. So you may have a closet gay guy.

And many men are ashamed of that and therefore hide it. And many women freak out upon coming across it, feeling threatened that perhaps their man might be gay.
Now, that does happen, but in the vast majority of cases it just simply isn't true.
Heck, I find gay porn hot, and I'm a straight woman. What does that make me?
I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you, given that everything else is good.

I look up female models sometimes, not in a gay way, just to get fashion and make up ideas.
So I guess it is possible that he was looking at pics of fit men for encouragement.
But if these men were gay and it was of a sexual nature then your partner may have a gay fetish. He may have been looking at it for arousal.
I don't know. It sounds like one of those things you just have to take it or leave it. He does owe you an explanation better than the one he gave you, though.
