hey honey,
sigh! hair is the bane of us dark haired girls!
i was always too embarassed to wear sleeveless tops because i have the same problem as you. but i got fed up and though "meh, my armpits are as good as they'll get, and its not like people inspect them anyway..." and now i wear many strappy tops!
basically, yes, you will have a dark area where the hair is even if you've just shaved. and usually you will find a little bit of stubble grown back by the next day. such is life. ive found that letting it grow around 3mm then plucking each hair out, makes my armpits look their best, but there is still a dark shadow. i only do this when i feel like making an extra effort.
have you considered waxing? its meant to make the hair grow back thinner. i can never be bothered to wait for the hair to grow long enough for waxing.
basically, use whichever hair-removal method you like, and be happy with how it turns out. you can't change who you are, and the people that count arent going to judge you on having dark armpits. we all have our "faults".
live life, and enjoy yourself!

If you are dark haired then you are likely to get a shadow in the arm pit...there is only one long term solution if it really bothers you and that would be laser therapy as that knocks out the hair roots which cause the shadow!

Preferably after your bath , apply some baby oil or mineral oil or warmth water and then shave with a good razor or a double bladed razor.

Are you running the shaver/razor in different directions? Up, down ... maybe even left and right? Hair grows in different directions and so if you're only running the blade up, the hair that grows in that direction 'lays down' and is 'run over' instead of getting cut.
