Actually Thursday I skipped and with that, I told her about it with geting into trouble. And how she said she wouldn't excuse got me mad so I skipped Friday (which I'm not going to tell her about) but the school sent me a letter saying how if my mom doesn't write me a extention then I am going to fail this semester.Well, while I was in town, my mom called me on my cellphone telling me how I should extend my time being in town until late at night then come home... I asked her why.. and she told me how tommy (step dad) is very upset at her and my mom was talking really quiet, afraid of him hearing her talk. It got me kind of mad how scared she sound because my real dad was a drunk, almost killed her 6 times abusive wise so when it comes to men and her. I am very fragil emotional wise if someone harms my mother... when i've came so close to losing her because of a guy's hand. Well, she told me how she told Tommy how she is going to write the extention that way I won't fail school...Tommy told her how she shouldn't, how I should fail school if I am going to be that irresponsible... I asked my mom what they all fought about. She wouldn't tell me, said she had to go... Well, when i got home, it was around 12. I felt bad waking her up but I just asked her if Tommy hurt her, she asked me what I meant, I asked her, Did he hit you? And she didn't say anything, told me to leave her alone, that it's late so I did so.I haven't really looked at her for marks. But I don't trust my step dad. He has almost hit me a few times, like he has grabbed my wrist once but he has always let go and turned around and hit something else. I am extremely afraid of him. He emotional abuses me and I have already been the police about this but they didn't seem to care. But don't worry about me, I am moving to Colorado my 12th grade year to my best friend's house because I am going insane and wanting to kill Tommy...But I just want to know, how can I tell if he is hurting my mom when she won't tell me? Maybe I am just overreacting? You would too if you knew him... and also, why does he have to act like he is my father? He has no authority to have me fail school.

reader, anonymous, writes (19 November 2006): Let your school counselor know about this (and that it is why you are skipping school). It is wrong to skip school, but if your mother is suffering abuse, that must be brought to the attention of local authorities (police states attorney) immediately.

Let me start off by saying this..
I am a mother of two, and i once lived with my husband ( at the time) and he was very abusive.. to the point where he would hit me, choke me, kick me, and tried to burn me, on regular basis,,, Anyways, i was the "quiet" ones as well.
Now my ex-husband is in prison for domestic battery, aarson, and kidnapping... The only reason he is locked up, is because a neighbor herd me and my little girl screaming as our heads got bashed in the door. I never told anyone about him. And im luckey someone herd... or my little girl and i would be dead... Now,,,, Thats great your moving to colorado,,, congrats... but u know deep down u are going to worry about ur mom. If you think she is really getting abused TELL SOMEONE.. remember this- the quiet ones, are the abused ones... Ive herd of stories where women ended up dying from not saying anything. If ur mom died tommorro, then you have to be the one to live with the fact that you could have stoped it.. TELL SOMEONE NOW!!!!! Or she might die,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
