I accepted his apologies, why doesn't he accept mine?

I got jealous and was mad and Hurt. In turn i hurt him because he looked at differently and saidthat I was being disrpectful. Which looking back I was rude and disrespectful but I was enraged. things appeared to be different than they were. After talking with him I understand his side. I tried to explain mine but he is not budging. I feel like I am being punished. we will talk again when he cools down. But did i Lose him. He cant talk this type of behavior but it was really a misunderstanding which I apologzed for. I took his apologies why cant he take mine.
