Hey, sorry this question is'nt really a relotionship question but i'm really worrying.

i added this random guy on msn and we were talking for a while. Then all of a sudden when i was trying to help him out with his computer he said he was getting my IP adress and blocking me ?

I have no idea how you can get somones IP adress but he said he had mine and was passing it on and blocked me.

I'm really worried you can't like hack someones computer with it or find any personal information out with it. I don't know weather or not he was lying either, it only took a matter of a seconds but i'm just really worried. I have blocked him now and deleted everyone off my msn.

Please help or tell me what to do ?

Hello thankyou for your information. I am sorry the thanks is abit late.

First of all i am very careful of who i add, this was just a one off as he seemed nice and on a regurlar basis i don't add strangers. Only friends and family.

I have found out that it is very hard to infact hacck somones computer if the only information they have is your IP.

I have informed my parents and they said not to worry as there is not much he can do with it unless he is some sort of professional hacker which i doubt thanks for your replys :) x

Thelaird1 agony auntI think he is bluffing really. If you are really worried, you should speak to your parents, and possibly even the police. He has made a serious threat, even if he is not capable of following up with the threat.

Be very wary of adding random guys, especially at such a young age

I don't know much about this area myself but will include a link below that should give you more information.

I think in the immediate future you should tell your parents what has happened, this is something they should know and they will be able to help you or find someone who can.

You can also look for more information on stuff like this by using google, it will all be explained in the link but yes people can do very serious damage with your IP address.
