I recently went to the doctor because it was hurting when I went to the toilet. The doctor gave me some antibiotics and I gave a urine sample. Does anyone know how long it takes to get my results back???

Also I have had a bit of back pain and stomach pain.

hlskitten agony auntHi

Could be a kidney infection. Have you had a temperature too? Although could be something like Cystitis. I get it loads. Its a pain! Pardon the pun. I expect the results take about a week. I doubt they will contact you, unless you contact them for them, especially if he/she has given you anti biotics. It will stay on your notes though. If you ever get it back again (which most women will) then as soon as it starts, drink loads of water and buy some of those Cranberry juice sachets from the Chemist. They knock it on the head for me within a few days and i dont bother going to the docs anymore.

Give them a ring in a week and ask if the results are back.

Its a joy being female at times! Hmmmmm :o?

Most of the time, if the results are negative the doctor will not even call to tell you. So I would wait a week from the day you got the tests done & call for your results. If they're not in yet, ask when you should call them back. Don't rely on them calling you.

Richard_EMids agony auntPhone your doctors surgery or clinic and ask them when your results might be available. Nobody can give you a diagnosis on a website like this. A qualified doctor seeing you in person cannot be certain which is why Doctor has sent for a urine analysis.

Make sure you follow your Doctors advice and go back if you don't feel the problem is going away.

Take care, Richard

Hi Hunny

Sounds like a bladder infection the doc may have given you penicillin if you have no alergys to it, It usually takes from 3day to a week love for results to come back, but if you are taking your medication on a regular basis then the pain should start to ease off in 2 to 3 days love, The pain in your back is related to the kidneys hunny take all your meds as they are a course even if you start to feel better as the infection could come back if you stop...Hope this helps hunny TAKE CARE OF YOU LOVE MANDY XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Well I already know what it is in case your wondering, its just a urinary tract infection. Its very common. For something like that, the doctor is probably not even going to contact you to give you your results back. Unless you have a follow up appointment. But if you don't then you are going to have to call the office and ask for the results. It takes less than a week. And they are just going to tell you that its a urinary tract infection.

Its just that sometimes bacterias in your private area goes into where you pee and it causes an infection and irritation. Are you sexually active?? Sometimes it can happen after sex. Its not contagious and its not a std. Its just a little infection that is easily cured with antibiotics.
