How can I get out of this minimum wage rut I am in?

Ever since I left school I have gone from dead end job to dead end job and I'm fed up with it.

I want a career, something which gives me a steady wage but were do I begin?

My one talent is catering, that's what I've been doin since I left school, I love my job but its taking me know were. I have a child who's now in school so I have to work my hours around this.

I've looked into going back to college but in all honesty I just can't afford to leave my job. I've looked into doing an evening class but there are no evening care groups to look after my child.

I feel stuck in this no hope industry with no way out.

Can somebody please make a suggestion as to how I can start earning a real wage without living off the system?

Have you looked at NVQ training while on the job getting paid....I don't know much about this but paid job's with TRAINING and qualifications do exist...good way to get into nursing?

Good Luck! don't let life and oportunities pass you by...

i think it is wonderful that you wish to further yourself. at this point i would say that school is not an option it is a requirement. seek assistance, get "dad" to help if you can get family involved. you can not go it alone. you will need support from friends and family. stop making excuses and go for it. dont just follow your heart lead by it. and use good judgement. and good luck
