Both of you have been exceptional parents. There is no doubt that I would be the person I am today without your help. James, you have done so much for me, biking with me, playing tennis with me (even when I was bad tempered because I was loosing!) and a great many more wonderful memories that I share with you. You have always been there for me and for that I am truly grateful. My mother is someone who means so much to me that it is hard to put into words, I would never be the person that I am today without your help and guidance. You have never stopped believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. So the biggest thank you that I have to say today is to you – for I couldn’t have done half of what I’ve done without you. So thank you for showing me the way, and thank you for your continuous love. My favourite entry in my mother's childhood autograph book was written by my great grandmother who wrote ‘you're future lies before you like a field of driven snow, take care how you tread for the marks will always show’ I look at the field behind me and I am grateful for the marks that I have shared with all of you. I look ahead to the next field and I hope that you will all share that journey across the snow with me, and share many more happy memories.'So what do you all think? I really want this to sound good...does it?

sofiamorgan is verified as being by the original poster of the question Thank you so much for your kind words Tish and Minnelisse I really appreciate it. It was an incredible party and an incredible, if somewhat emotional evening! I don't think that there was a dry eye after all the speeches were finished.
Thank you both for your kindness.

Got a tear in my eye, seriously, it's really heartwarming and sincere.
I would just add something besides the sport memories with your stepfather James. Something that only he and you share, not with your mother...
You helped me with...
I could not have done.... without you....
Something along those lines...
Other than that and what Minelisse said, it's beautiful and heartfelt and couldn't be better.
Happy Birthday! And cheers to you and your family.
