A female reader, anonymous, writes (18 November 2006):

Well, seeing him unexpectedly did stir up feelings in you, and reminded you of the relationship you had hoped to have with him. That's natural.

Did you just run into him unexpectedly today? Has he moved to another part of town, or somewhere much further away and maybe just visiting - are you likely to bump into him again?

If not, I'd say just accept that it upset you, and allow yourself to feel a little sad for today, maybe even tomorrow as well, but continue with your usual activities and especially things you enjoy doing with friends and family.

As the days pass and time goes on, this will fade from your mind of its own accord - unless of course you purposely keep thinking about it!
