 Is the cause really your insecurity and frustration . What I mean is, do all the arguments you have revolve around you pestering him to get married?
I ask this as the reason you gave sounds a bit to me like HE is saying that you are insecure.
Anyway, he sounds like he is using it as an excuse .

4 years is more than 10% of your life so far. Patience has to yield to logic before it's too late. Give him a 6 month ultimatum and then dump if need be.
