Hi

No it isn't your only solution, it is masking the underlying problem and a journey you might not be able to get off one day,and that eek! may turn into ouch! and you will get way more nervous if you keep running away from your underlying problem. I Know somebody right this Minuit laying in a hospital bed because of the same eek! their kidneys are fxxxxx, on drips, dehydrated, and their family are the ones that are the ones who are also nervous and know what ,they don't take the route of eek! sorry to sound so harsh and i know this is not the type of answer your looking for, but truth is truth and i just want to say alcohol is not the answer and never will be, it destroys lives and to go into it for escape is imprisoning you and everyone that has to put up with the crap that goes with it. face your problem like countless numbers of humans do every Minuit of everyday, even when they feel like running away because they are in total blackness, and some for years on end but they find their way home without the eek! get real help.

A reader, anonymous, writes (10 July 2008):

It sounds like you get stressed out and depressed. You should try seeing a doctor so they can get you on a healthier plan. Your age isn't on this, but when I was 14 I had a bad way of dealing with my stress. I cut and was bulimic. Just 4 years later my stomach has ulcers even though I was only bulimic for a year and I have horrible scars on my legs. Its not worth what you are doing to your body. When you learn to handle stress a better way you will regret how much you hurt your body. I am diagnoised with depression and sever anxiety and I cant take meds because they just make my syptoms worse.

I made the choice to be better to my body by myself. While I still mess up and lose my temper and hit a wall or cry until I cant breathe most the time I either sit down at the computer and play games while listening to music or I just go for a drive. Which keeps me from doing something dumb.

Only you will know what calms you down and what can take your mind off your problems.

You will regret alcohol later so work with a doctor and yourself to find out what works for you and doesn't hurt your body.

I really hope that I helped!

If your 'nerves' are so bad that you turn to alcohol, you should see a psychiatrist about it. You could need anxiety meds to help you out. Or you could be an alcoholic...
