How can you make you ex-boyfriend intersted in you again without making it obvious? He acts like he still likes me, but is also interested in other girls.... but when I try to talk to other guys he gets all nervous and then tries to make me scared I will never talk to him again or puts a guilt trip on me. I like him a lot and we have been off and on for 5 years now. I just want all this nonsense to end... maybe I will have to wait until he grows up.

well, Me and my boyfriend started dating in november..he broke up with me on thanksgiving..we ended up dating again in december and he broke up with me ten days later..after we broke up i wouldnt talk to him and it drove him crazyy.

He would call me all the time yelling at me and calling me immature and stupid. Things like that. The day after we broke up he was all over this girl and he knew it drove me crazy so i started hanging out with a different guy too.

one night he saw me with this guy who was kind of his friend he was so mad he punched his mirror in his car and broke it. He told me if i ever talked to him or hung out with him again that me and him were done.

I liked him a lot so i listen to whatever he said was not the smartest thing to do. We havent dated since december but i still really like him and want him back i hung out with him yesterday and today i found out that he asked one of my bestfriends to snowgoing and he talks to her all the time. i really want him back but i also dont know what to do to get him back. i try not talking to him but then he just gets mad and then when i talk to him i dont know if he really does love me or if he just wants me to use me.

so when i hung out with him yesterday i wouldnt do anything with him and he really hasnt talked to me that much..i dont know maybe once someone has made up their mind that they dont want to be with you then thats the way it should be this is the second time i have been through this and its not something easy for a girl to do. I know it may be one of the hardest things you will ever think you have to do. but you have to force your self to do it and once its over you will be happy again. Thats all i know and im sure you are just as confused as i am with this whole thing.

I just went throught the same experince and I really want to get back together with him. Sometimes boys/men are just weird that way. The only thing to do is move on. If you want it to end you need someone who will stay with you. Not someone who will dump you every week. You can't make anyone like you

well everyone i give u all a little tip,

if your relationship isnt working and its been

on and off for several months, then its just a fling

all your doing is putting you and your heart through

a pain that it really dosnt need. If you have to dress up

for your ex to notice you then hes apparenty not worth it

if all hes interested in is looks well your going to have another heart brake lined up for you. so heres your tip

TALK TO HIM if he dosnt feel the same way then obvsually hes not worth all the pain now is he?

Believe me i know what im talking about, even though im only 14 it hurts just as much to get my heart ripped out as much as it doesw for you.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (13 April 2008):

I say,

you just tell him straight forward'

theirs no harm, and if he doesnt feel the same way'

then its time to move on, i know this may seem hard,

but you'll feel better about youself, once its over.

A female reader, Bailey J United Kingdom +, writes (12 March 2007):

Bailey J agony auntI don’t think you can. Once someone has made there mind up that’s it. When i have broken up with boyfriends I’ve gotten really dressed up and gone somewhere i know they will be. When there, i act like I haven't seen them while smiling and laugh with my friends. I don’t go over and talk to them i just act as though I couldn’t care less. Its worked every time. But when we have got back together its not lasted long.. just a couple of days or a week. I think that once a person has made there mind up that’s it… I think that trying to come up with ways to make them love you again is a waste of time. How hard it may be you have to try to get on with your life, even if you know that you will never stop loving him/her.

I guess I am going to disagree with the premise of not making it obvious.

We dont know what it was that broke you up in the first place so its hard to give advice there, but why dont you just go to him and say "you know I think we both have done a lot of growing and I'd be interested in giving it another try".

A female reader, sexseahot United States +, writes (12 December 2005):

sexseahot agony auntLet him know exactly how you feel. There's no other option really. You want to know how he feels, so ask him. If he wants to be back with you, then he will be. He may be trying to make you jealous by liking other girls and you not really being able to talk to other guys is a hint that he gets jealous also.

If you guys have been going on and off for 5 years, what makes you think this time will be different? It seems as though nothing will be changing anytime soon with the jealousy and all. Maybe you should seperate for awhile and see how you guys really feel about eachother.

Sometimes you just need to let someone go completely to know how you really feel about them. If you can't live without eachother, there's something there and you guys should really grow up and learn how to make a relationship work and work on better communication.

Good Luck!

A female reader, mommyofthree +, writes (11 December 2005):

mommyofthree agony auntFirst of all you can't make anyone like you, if you are not together and you feel thathe may still have feelings for you great, but it's not as if you can tie him to a chair and not let him go until he likes you. If you really want to stop the nonesense I believe you should take the direct approach, if you are interested in rekindling your relationship tell him, if he wants to he will. I will add that in my opinion if it hasn't worked in the 5 years you have been on and off, it probably won't work this time.
