How can my boyfriend and I improve our communication?

Question - (12 May 2007) 1 Answers - (Newest, 13 May 2007)
A female Ireland, anonymous writes:

i love my boyfriend i really do but he always complains that i never talk to him when i actually tell him everything from the most trivial details to the big things that are really hard for me to talk about.

HE however tells me nothing, for example; he fell out with a very close friend and never spoke about it even when i asked and apparently has been back in contact with this friend for a few weeks and is going out with her tonight- and yet he never mentioned it til i asked where he was going.

its not an affair or anything i know that, its just he didn't bother to tell me and i can't understand why...we are arguing a lot lately too- is it just not meant to be?

A male reader, Royofthe Rovers United Kingdom +, writes (13 May 2007):

Royofthe Rovers agony auntHim not expressing himself to you the way you are towards him is starting to show its signs. He has to learn to talk to you more and understand that good communication is needed if the relationship is going to work.

Some people find it harder than others to express themselves, however that does not make it right and it is not a problem which can not be resolved. At the moment the relationship is one way traffic, you throwng everything into the pot, while he just gets on with things regardless.

Sit down and chat with him, eventually you will feel isolated from him and unable to trust him the way you used or would like to. This is already eveident and will continue to grow unless he decides to share more with you.
