A female reader, Midge United Kingdom +, writes (1 January 2008):

Midge agony auntWhen I was at primary school I had over 130 warts on my hands and over 80 on my knees. I had them surgically removed, but within a week, they were all back. I was totally ashamed.

It depends entirely on where the warts are? If like me, its on your hands and knees and other body parts other than genitalia, fear not, because there is a cure!!!!

I tried every kind of treatment known to man, and they all failed except one.

Go to your local pharmacy. Ask them for elastoplast. Not just the bog standard stuff, I cant remember the name but it is thick, wide, white elastoplast. Tape up the area that has the warts on it. Do NOT take the tape off for two weeks. When it gets dirty, just take off the top layer and put more on. This elastoplast does not allow the warts to breath and as such they die and leave no marks.

It may sound rediculous, but trust me, it does work. I have been wart free for almost 20 years now. I still have the scars where the warts were burnt off, but I have no scars from the elastoplast.

I was told to do this by a friend of my mum some 20 years ago, and if it helped me, it will surely help anyone out there wanting to rid themselves of warts! I was called all sorts of names at school because my hands were so bad, and that affected me more than having to walk around school with this thick white elastoplast on my hands and knees.

Let us know if you decide to do it, and if you have as great a success as I did. (Obviously dependant on where the warts are!)

A female reader, brooke5426 United Kingdom +, writes (31 December 2007):

brooke5426 agony aunthaving genital warts means you have HPV. is that what you have? Has a doctor confirmed this? I'm thinking they probably havent otherwise you would've been told by them that it means you carry HPV. but to answer your question, if you carry the HPV virus there is no way to get rid of it. my sister has it and i know that it is distressing to begin with but you'll get used to life with it. and you'll learn how to cope with the warts when they flare up.

but if you havent had a doctor confirm that you have genital warts and HPV then you're worrying over nothing. get the doctor to check you over just to put your mind at ease.

A female reader, pgissyd United Kingdom +, writes (31 December 2007):

pgissyd agony auntlordy! My 6 year old daughter is prone to warts on her fingers, but she doesnt have any std's! Hun warts do not indicate hpv, you would have to have a test by the doctor to confirm std or sti, but warts are very common and have many causes. most will go away on their own or you can have large ones lazered off. there is also a cream made by the same people who make the varucca creams that you can put on warts, maybe try some of that, you can get it over the counter.

take care. x

A reader, anonymous, writes (31 December 2007):

The Human Papilloma Virus can cause warts, but that doesn't mean to say that because you have warts you also have HPV! If that was the case half the population would be infected!

Like Baby Duck says, see a doctor. The professional touch is the best course of action.
