Hey agony aunts, I'm just wondering a few things, 1) I have this little i guess you could call it a "pouch" lol on my tummy, i'm actually quite a skinny person, but my stomach is a little chubby :( How do I get rid of that, just by running/situps?

2)I'm really confused again cause like i said before im pretty skinny, and yet I have a little double-chin action going on.. how stupid is that?? I don't really wanna go on any weight loss things because i've never really cared about that stuff cause i've always been skinny, but just recently ive gained a little.. and im a bit self concious of it!

any adivce on how to get rid of that extra fat would be greatly appreciated :)

Oh my gosh, that sounds EXACTLY like me.

I've always been fairly skinny and petite (5'2" and about 98 pounds), and yet I have a tummy pouch and a slight double chin. :(

As for the tummy, doing a LOT of sit ups and cardio exercises seems to have helped quite a bit. I've been doing 3 sets of 40 reps (sit ups) every day, as well as running every morning and swimming twice a week. Also, remember to keep breathing when you do situps. inhale as you go down, and then exhale as you go up without stopping. Try REALLY hard not to hold your breath when you're coming up, as this is the cause of pouch development in the first place. :P

Not sure how to get rid of the chin pudge, I don't really have the patience to do facial exercises, though I suppose I shoudl give it a try.

Good luck!

I have this too. I have had 3 kids, and am a size 6 (uk) (size 2 US), yet my tummy is rounded and podgy. I have lost all my baby weight, and then some, and do loads of crunches. I have been recommended to do free weights excercises by my personal trainer. You'd need to do this under guidance though, as it is quite technical. I'm not convinced I'll ever have a flat tummy though

since your skinny you don't want to become more skinny and still have fat so what you do is build muscle which then burns fat do 100 or more crunches everyday and run a mile a day to start off the muscle you build in your stomach will start to burn the layer of fat you have on top once you start running which will burn more fat Also do squats to strengthen your legs and tone your butt running will tone your legs also but squats will make it better and since your already skinny you won't have to much fat in your legs so you will tone your legs and build muscle instead

basically right, women have that cause of babies and having to have that bit of skin to stretch. Weirdly, men find this attractive more often than not... it's psychlogical in saying "babies... i could be alife partner"... this is subconscious, so men just find it attractive usually... it depends... is it just a bit of skin, a little bigger than the rest? cause if so, that's good... well i think it is anyway =D

cd206 agony auntYou don't say how old you are in the post but given what else you've just said... if your age is somewhere between 15 and 18 your metabolism is probably slowing down or you've stopped growing and you can't get away with eating as much as you used to anymore. Comfort eating is a bitch. I do it myself and however much I try to limit it, it's hard to beat. However, someone told me this. When you get depressed or wound up and are reaching for the food, stop and rub your tummy and chest area in small rhythmic circles. Apparently these are your acupuncture points to stop yourself feeling the hunger urge.

This is verified as being by the original poster of the question

well thats weird, because i do alot of running, i play basketball, and i got for runs twice a week usually. I guess i dont really eat that well, cause im kinda depressed so ive been eating alot.. but like ive always eaten lots, ever since i was little.. i just have a high metabolizium. I'm definetly not like one of those people who have that psychological disorder where they think they are fat.. (anorexia) but liek i just dont liek how all of a sudden as ive grown older i got that little tummy... ya maybe it just is a "womanly stomach" but its weird cause ive done 1000's of situps, and its like all muscle underneath, but theres a little bit of chub or something.. and the double chin.. thats just embarassing cause im not fat!! it makes me feel like im fat cause fat people usualy have those :( i'll try those exercises thanks:)

Farris agony auntI'm a skinny person and have both of the things that you have mentioned. Don't worry about it, it's COMPLETELY normal!

So long as you are eating healthily, drinking plenty of water, and keeping fit, then it doesn't really matter what shape your body is.

Best wishes.

if these things really bother you, my advice would be to NEVER have children..You haven't seen a pouch until you have a baby.

A female reader, cd206 United Kingdom +, writes (31 May 2007):

cd206 agony auntOkay, first with the tummy thing. Try sucking your tummy in and then pinching the pouch.... can you still pick more than just skin? It's always hard to tell from an internet post whether people actually have a tummy or if you just have a normal womanly stomach. It's natural to have a roundish stomach rather than a flat one or one that curves on. However, you could try a mixture of cardiac exercise (running, aerobics etc) and stretches like lunges and sit ups etc. As for the double chin, there are some face exercises that you can do that help. The first is to pull a manic grin with your teeth together, then relax, then repeat really fast until your face muscles get tired and the second is to open your mouth as far as possible , then shut and repeat. If these don't make sense message me and I'll try to explain in another way.
