 The youngest you can be is 16, that would make him 27. That is quite and age gap for a 16 year old. Its different if the 11 year gap was 20 and 31. I say this because at 16 you don't truly know what you want, although you may think you do.
I think this guy is a little old for him Mum to be telling him what to do regarding his relationships.
If you both really truly love each other then his Mums actions and opinions shoulden't even come in to it.
