well first he was ALREADY avoiding you. this might be due to many reasons. One of the most crucial one could be that he is no more interested in you or he might have got another one in his life. Now if You believed that he can never betray you, then maybe there might be other problems as well. you must try talking to him.
However, your case is a bit complicated. you guys had a fight and you are not even talking to each other. it is true the more you run after someone the more far he will tend to go. but this is not applicable here. because it may happens that he does not take this into consideration and its important for you to know the reasons why he is behaving so.
so therefore the best solution here is communication. you have to talk to him. look for opportunities to talk to him. Convince him in such a way that he speaks the truth :- for e.g. you can tell him..if you want a break up tell me i would walk out of your life,... he should speak the truth somehow

 gurl if it was 2 days ago! just like dont keep callin him or textin him for at least a week or maybe 3 days and if he dont reply that means hes moved on and u should too..
