A reader, anonymous, writes (27 July 2010):

There are alot of guys and gals out here who are mental ill--they play mind games and toy around with the emotions of others. This is why it's not a good thing to get too close to a person too soon regardless of what they are telling you. Knowing what I know about relationships and the entire dating process, I wouldn't care if the guy had a crush on me for five years....I am taking my time and not getting too involved. This guy was playing games from the very beginning and had no intentions on every being with you. Sometimes, as the months go by, the person may start to develop deep feelings for you, but this guy isn't worth all that aggravation. Just cut your loses and do positive things to get over him. I know how you feel...a guy..my ex two years ago did something similar and it went on for about 8 months.I use to always tell myself that I wish I had left him earlier rather than later. It took me over a year to get over him and I had to seek therapy for the emotional and mental pain I was exp.

Denise32 agony auntWhat do you do now? You block him from your email, phone, I.M., Facebook, etc. It's a lost cause. It's his choice - which he is entitled to make - not to continue. He doesn't sound very considerate, however.

Don't even ATTEMPT to remain friends with him. I agree he just seemed to like the thrill of the chase, and has now decided he doesn't want any more.

Therefore: YOU don't want any more with this man, either!

Dump him. He's in it for the chase and nothing else. How shallow. All he wanted was to chase you. Now he has you, he doesn't know what he wants. It's a waste of time to be with him, you'll just waste your life. End it now, move on to a guy who actually is interested in more than just the chase.
