A female reader, EbonyBlossom United Kingdom +, writes (27 June 2010):

EbonyBlossom agony auntMaybe you should use the internet or get him to talk to another girl to educate him that it's totally normal for girls to have irregular periods. You could even show him this page! I know that my periods used to be about 25 or more days apart, but when they came they could last for up to ten days! That was until I went on the pill. Now my periods are shorter, lighter, and very regular. If you went then he would have even less cause to think you were lying and you could have sex more often. You would also reap the benefits of extra protection, less period pain, and a clearer complexion. You can even skip a period if it's due to fall at a particularly inconvenient time. But your boyfriend really is being a naive and uneducated boy and he needs to learn more about the female anatomy =]

QZ agony auntI agree. Just show him. If he's going to be juvenile about it and accuse you of things you aren't doing, be blunt about your situation.
