 I don't know about giving up yet. Have you texted him since? Why not send a short text, "Hi, what's up?" or something like that. It just puts you in his mind. If no reply then yes, give up.

reader, anonymous, writes (8 August 2011): You could wait maybe a little longer to see if he will contact you, perhaps with plans for next weekend, but if a whole week goes by with no contact, and he is not replying to any of your texts, there is a good chance he is not interested. You could ask him if he would like to meet up again just so you are sure though.

reader, anonymous, writes (7 August 2011): To be absolutely frank (putting myself in the guy's shoes) I would say that the most plausible explanation is that he is not into you. However there are other slim chances like he actually lost your number. I would say the best thing to do is to initiate some sort of communication with him: if he responds in an uninterested manner - just wash your hands off him.
