I have this guy that says he likes me and wants to get to know me..we went out on a double date with one of his friends and i thought it went well and he said he enjoyed it..the thing that gets me though is that he hardly ever texts me or anything..he has full daytime job and does text me once in a blue moon with cute texts and tells me that he is thinking about me..like maybe once a week to twice a week.he had an extremely serious relationship before me and he told me he wants to take things slow...but are things that slow that they are non existant or is it just my imagination?

A female reader, Evangeline  United Kingdom +, writes (26 December 2006):

Evangeline agony auntGetting to know someone new after a serious relationship is hard for anyone and so his reactions sound fairly normal. You have to be able to trust him about his feelings, if he says he likes you then he probably does! Hes probably unsure about things that happened in the last relationship - maybe hes worried about getting started on something new and then it ending badly. If the previous relationship was a long one then he may find it difficult starting again with someone new - thats not saying he doesnt want to start again, he sounds like he does - but for some people it is a lot of effort and he probably will feel much more relaxed when you have been serious for a while.

Try not to get worked up about the last relationship - your the ones hes interested in. Make sure he sees you as a new person to date with interests and hobbies of your own. Why not turn an new leaf together on new years eve??

Hope i have helped!
