What are you hanging around for. The first slap when you two meet up. Just switch the computer off, get out there and meet a real guy. Stop all this internet nonsense. How can you possibly know what a person is like over the internet. It's not real. What has happened to good old fashioned dating. Getting ready and going out and meeting someone really nice, Someone shouting at you over the web!!!! Get a life and keep him out of it.

Take care

A female reader, Bev Conolly Australia +, writes (16 November 2006):

Bev Conolly agony auntMost people put on an "act", somewhat, when they're talking online. What I mean is, most people go out of their way to be as nice a possible, or as hip as possible, or as cool as possible, or whatever. People want you to like them, and try to put on their best face, right? Because you're only on webcam for a few minutes or hours, you can pretend to be anything you want.

That's the danger of online relationships. The person that you see might be the person you "see", but isn't necessarily as honest or as sweet as the person they are when you're chatting. In real life, people have flaws and cranky days and sometimes smell bad, but you find that out when you actually meet.

Now, consider your guy: not even *pretending* to be nice online, he's shouting at you over the web! He can't even put on a happy face for the chats.

Will he get worse? I'd say it's a sure thing. Anyone who can't even maintain the illusion of being a nice person for the short time they're talking with you on webcam is NOT A NICE PERSON.

Lose him.
