Is there any guys out there who met a girl at 15/16/17/18 and are still with them? maybe married to them, engaged, still dating and how old are you guys know?

I keep hearing so much stuff about how when guys meet a girl at 18 or younger they never stay with them forever kinda thing because they want to experience other girls and lead a single life messing and playing around.

i did. my wife and i have been together since she was 16 and i 17. married when i turned 21. weve been married for 8 years now and together for 13. It can work but you do need to have a very strong commitment, trust and comunication.

My brother did. He and his HS sweetheart married at 19 and lived happily for 30 years before he passed from cancer. They had ups and downs and a near affair, but they kept it together. I think their secret was they led a simple life, didn't crave things outside the marriage (as in a focus on material belongings or status), kept their common interests strong (NASCAR, a love for beach bars, Jamaica, etc), and never lost sight of having fun.

Their marriage is a model for my future marriage.

Illithid agony auntI have two friends that did that. One just married her boyfriend of 9 years, who she started dating at about 15. The other married her teenage sweetheart twenty years ago and they're still together. It's been known to happen sometimes. It's just in the minority because it's a lot of work to keep a relationship going through college and moving and jobs and growing up and many teens and twenty-somethings aren't that mature yet.

A female reader, Anonymous 123 Italy +, writes (20 April 2011):

Anonymous 123 agony auntI met my BF when I was in school. He's invested much, MUCH more in our relationship than I have, and its because of him that we'r still together. I'm 28 now. I don't know how we've made it work, but we have, against all odds. I cant think of a single day without him...

I dont understand how people say they want to "experience" other people. When you've found your perfect someone to love and cherish, all else fades before that. No other person can ever have the space in my life that he does. I still blush when I see him, I feel like a school girl every time he holds my hand and I feel so blessed to have him in my life! Its entirely because of him that we're together...he's literally fought against all odds to be with me.

So yeah, no matter how old (or young) you are, you can find true love. Just follow your heart.

Two of my good friends were recently married. They started dating when they were 17, and they're both 22 now.

It's possible, it's just not a frequent occurrence.

We met the first time when she was 15 and I was 17. Our first date was maybe a year later, and our first serious date a year after that. Have been together ever since --- married with three amazing children. She's 46, I'm 48.

msnewbeginning agony auntYes I know a couple that have but relationship was ruined by pressure. Actually they got married because the girl forced the boy into marriage. It was marriage or break-up. She said she had been shacking for too long but they got married when she was 20 and he was 21. She was hiding her pregnancy before the wedding and ended up separated three months later. It has been six months and they are trying to work things out.

Yes!!! My parents met when they were 16 (my dad) and 15 my mom. Both of my parents are in their 40's. I just have to say that they went through a lot of stuff. My dad cheated on my mom a couple of times ago. But he changed, so is all good now. But I have to say it isnt easy to be able to stay together for this amount of time. But if you love each other a lot then there shouldnt be any problem, going through these types of problems together. There are times when couples have to revive that love that they felt when they started going out. and this is something that very few people can do/ are willing to do.

My parents met when they were Juniors in highschool and remained together this whole time. My father is hopelessly romantic and they are very, very happy and very in love. It's really great.
