Has he become the guy I dread?

A female United States age 26-29, anonymous writes:

So there's this boy I really like, let's say A.

A and I have known each other for about two years, talking/hanging out a lot since about September, and I fell for him at the beginning of October.

A is super sweet, hilarious, kind, and one of the biggest reasons I like him: innocent. He's barely kissed a girl whereas I am not a virgin (**I don't regret it so please don't comment anything about having sex despite my youth.) and he knows that. He's extremely trustworthy too. I've had a lot of people hurt me before, lot's of guys have tried to use me; all they wanted was to get in my pants.

A is not like most 'horny' guys. He's really sweet, barely even kissed a girl, and never liked a girl for looks as far as I know. He's never felt the urge to go with the crowd for popularity, yet girls throw themselves at him left and right and he shrugs them off.

Like a lot of teenagers we play the questions game: you ask questions back and fourth, if you don't answer then you lose.

During this game I've confessed to liking him, when I returned the question he said he didn't like anyone at the moment. Which I feel is a lie. His best friend and I are close enough to exchange big secrets, him and the guy I like seem like they wouldn't keep anything from each other. His friend told me that he thinks he likes me back, and I think he knows he does, he's just not allowed to tell me.

Something was also revealed during this game of questions: he said he would go all the way with me. which surprised me because of the whole 'innocent' factor. He thinks I definitely wont have sex again until I'm older, and he didn't try to pressure me into it or anything. Just confessed that he would. When he returned the question I said I would only go to second base with him. (**Bases: French, feel, finger, fuck).

Also he's always flirtatious with me, joking around about sex, always asking intimate questions about him and I. but never saying anything about him actually liking me back. His friend implies that he does, but could this truly be something his friend doesn't know?

One day I was worried that I was annoying the guy I like when I texted him, but his friend insisted that girls always thought that and if the guy texts back then he wants to talk to you.

Lately the guy I like has become more distant in our conversations. When he used to text me every morning until we fell asleep at night, now I initiate our conversations and he seems distant during them, the conversations end quicker when I don't reply because I really feel like I'm annoying him, or he has to go.

Did he become the type of guy I dread, and he got tired of me because I said I wouldn't do anything with him? or could it just be something else, and I should still text him? I still really like him and would do almost anything to get together with him.

petina1 agony auntReading between the lines i think his friend is doing both of you no favours. His friend should not be passing messages back and forth. He may be wanting you to be his first one because of the way you talk to him. Which to be honest would scare someone off who hasnt even kissed a girl. If he is distant now i would take that as a sign that he really doesnt want to take this any further.

aunt honesty agony auntWell you say that he is quite innocent and he knows that you are not a virgin therefore he might be a little distant due to the fact you are more experienced than he is and he doesnt know what to do about it.

The only way you are going to find out is to ask him, text him and tell him you like him and put your self out there and see what he comes back with. Ask him straight out does he like you and take it from there. Goodluck.
