What is the average depth of a fully aroused women's vagina?

I think mine stays the same even when i am aroused(about 4 inches), or maybe I'm not aroused enough?

A reader, anonymous, writes (23 March 2008):

I've discussed this with 4 of my friends and none of us know the exact depth, but all of us have had problems with our husbands pushing against our cervix (which can be painful if the thrusting is hard). When you go in for a pap test, the doctor often feels the cervix for any abnormalities. if a doctor can reach it with his/her fingers, it can't be that deep.

DoubleM agony auntDuring arousal, your cervix will recede, considerably. Your cervix is essentially the "bottom" or depth of the vagina, which also expands during arousal and penetration to allow your lover's penis. On occasion, a longer than average male member may reach the usually deeply receded cervix (maybe 8 inches or more), which many women consider uncomfortable or even painful, but I've only touched a few on very petite ladies, and it is quite a bit above average. Certain positions, especially "doggie style," may allow deeper penetration which may reach the cervix.

Annalisa agony auntWho measured, you or your partner? If it was you, bear in mind you have to reach down and your pasotions are limited. When someone else penetrates you, you can open up more and the more you get aroused the deeper it'll get. Remember, you're expected to fit a baby's head in there!

However, get yourself a copy of the Kama Sutra. It's a fun read and it explains how women come in as many different sizes as men!

On average, penis length is around 5 inches... but there are men who are close to 8 and can still go most of the way! But as I always say, it's the lover that counts, not the tools!

I would think four inches sounds a little short considering the length of the average penis.I am about 8 inches and if I push a little too enthusiastically during sex can feel what I presume is the womb opening so I guess approx that length.I dont know about the possible lengthening of the vagina during arousal ??

A male reader, Sandman United States + , writes (27 February 2008):

Sandman agony auntThat's a good question. Hmm...

Well, if I had to guess, and that's all I'm doing here, I would say the average length of the vagina would be about the same as the average length of the male penis.

I've read in many articles and books and that the vagina does indeed lengthen when the female is aroused, but it never says how much. Just like the male penis gets erect when the male is aroused but never is it said how much (because well know that every male is different).

I would guess that 4 inches is not the average or norm. I've been with a few women and while I'm not going to discuss my penis size, I can say that a lot more than 4 inches was inserted into them without "bottoming out".

Hope this helps.

A reader, anonymous, writes (27 February 2008):

That's a good one but why do you wish to know? I have to speak from experience, obviously, and say four or five inches seems to be the norm. Of course, the vagina is quite pliant so can be stretched in any direction during intercourse. I don't believe it alters much, if at all, with arousal.
