A female United Kingdom age 26-29, *-k-kelly writes:

I met this lad over a year ago at a sports club, and when we went away on to the annual competition, I realised I really liked him. When we arrived back home, I told him I liked him, and we became very good friends from that point onwards. About November time I asked him out, but he said no because he was having family problems and didnt want to get me involved. We didnt talk as much after that, but the friendship remained, and I still liked him as much as ever. Just after christmas time we started talking again and arranged to go out a few times, but things always got in the way and stopped us from meeting up. He started talking as if he was starting to like me, as if he was interested and then that all stopped. We didnt talk for a while, then about a month before we were due to go away for the annual competition again we started talking again. When we were away for the competition, I stayed in his room for the night, we didnt do anything.. Just lay in bed together. The next day when we arrived back home, he text me saying he didnt want to hurt me and that we should just stay friends. But now recently he has started showing interest again. I dont know what to do about him. I really like him, and its been for such a long time, I've tried getting over him but it hasnt worked. One slight problem though, is distance, we live 38 miles apart and only see each other once a week, maybe twice. Advice on what I should do about him?

CindyCares agony auntAs I said many times on Dear Cupid - forgive me readers -

a mixed signal equals to no signal. A mixed signal is loaded with doubtand confusion, and shows a waxing-and-waning interest. If a guy is really interested, his signals will be loud clear and unmistakable.
