Does he like me or am I just hoping that he does?

I work with this guy I'm 24 and he's 38 I know its a big age difference but it doesn't matter.. I'm trying to figure out if he likes me so I can do my best to tell him how I feel. We both have the same rank in the job we are both apart of management. I have been having these feelings for a little while now. he has asked me "are you closing tomorrow night?" We work in a retail store. I said no because I was off and he replied "darn it" and I asked what was the matter and he said "nothing umm umm its just another person I thought would be closing with me" he's always making me smile and laugh. We talk a lot and seem to have a very good relationship as far as work goes. He used to be in a band in the 90's and he decided to show me a picture of him when he was 22 and has told me all about him playing the drums and performing. He made a cd of his band that was free and gave me a copy of it to listen to. We have very good communication. Our most recent convorsation was today, he is a lot taller than me so when I was talking to him, it was as if we were making so much eye contact I felt as if we were focused on each others eyes like looking deeply into each others eyes and smiling at each other. It sent a chill up my bones because I felt such a connection between us at that moment. I really like him and want to tell him that I do I just do not know if he is interested in me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If he does can you please help me on how I should tell him..
